Why We Built This Site
Michigan court records are generally available to the public under the court-record rules, but Oakland County has separate custodians for different case types. The Oakland County Clerk/Register of Deeds Legal Records Division keeps Sixth Circuit civil, domestic, felony criminal, and business records. The clerk of the assigned District Court maintains that court's lower-court file, while Probate Court keeps its own specialized matters. A public search may begin with MiCOURT Case Search, but the complete request route depends on where the case was filed and whether the record is displayed or restricted.
What You Will Find Here

- Docket explanations: how criminal docket searches and civil docket searches work in Oakland County
- Dates and settings: how to read the court dates information and verify a hearing with the responsible court
- Record requests: how court record searches, plain copies, and certified copies reach the correct custodian
What We Cannot Do
Oakland County Court Docket is a privately run reference site, with no affiliation to a Michigan court, clerk, or government agency. Its role has clear limits:
- It cannot retrieve an official Register of Actions or case file for a visitor
- It cannot set, move, or confirm a hearing date
- It cannot seal, amend, remove, or otherwise change a court case
- It cannot issue a certified docket, order, or other court copy
- It cannot give legal advice about a specific filing, deadline, or case
- It cannot promise that every listed fee, phone number, or procedure remains current
An official or certified copy must come from the court that maintains the case. For Sixth Circuit legal records, that usually means the Oakland County Legal Records Division; District and Probate files follow their own custodial routes.
Search Partners
Some pages include search tools operated by third parties. Those providers control their services, results, charges, and terms. A paid enrollment that follows use of one of those tools may produce a referral fee for this private site. That arrangement does not give Oakland County Court Docket control over the provider's pricing, data, or search results.
